Victory Child

Poetry

There are lots of people sitting back
watching the runners run.
With many loud cheers and cries
they encourage everyone.

Each runner has some fans
that want to see him win.
The crowd always has a favorite:
the one they think is him.

In My house there are no favorites:
to Me you're all the same.
But if you try to win this race,
you'll bring glory to My name.

A great trophy will await you
when the day is done.
Some may try to trip you up
because you are the one.

If you call upon My Name
and seek the strength I give,
You'll run and not grow weary:
In victory you'll live.

There'll be some trials in this race,
but I will give you time.
So don't give up, and keep your eyes
fixed on the finish line.

Choose your races thoughtfully:
don't just run in them all.
Don't run along with everyone:
listen carefully for My call.

The race I want you to run,
will take some strength and skill.
I've sent you the perfect coach,
that you may know My will.

Abide by the rules I set down:
try not to be a sinner.
Dedicate this race to Me
and you will be a winner!
